Mondays...
No one wants them, no one likes them, yet they show up after every weekend.
Monday mornings for PDI are usually catch up time from the weekend calls. We're always available to make sure your heating or cooling, which ever you want, is keeping you comfortable. Sometimes it's not feasible to complete a repair at 2 am on a Sunday. Maybe we have to order parts, wash coils or check for refrigerant leaks. As long as we get you comfortable, we can come back on Monday and finish the work.
Sometimes Mondays begin with phone calls from folks who didn't want to bother us on the weekend. I feel so sorry for those people. We don't mind the after hours or weekend calls. It's a part of the life of an HVAC-R* mechanic.
This weekend the most interesting call was from a customer whose wife complained of an odor coming from the furnace. Fearful of carbon monoxide poisoning she insisted he call us. He thought it smelled like a skunk, but he checked with us to be sure carbon monoxide didn't have a distinct smell. The caller decided to handle the situation himself. A quick check with him this morning confirmed the odor was indeed from a furry visitor who thankfully did not hang around long.
So here's your safety tip of the week!
If you heat with oil or gas, installing a carbon monoxide detector is a way to ensure the safety of your family. They just don't detect skunks!

Getting to know Parker Darden, Inc.
Blog?? Why not? I love to talk, and write and I love keeping up on social media. This seems like the natural progression.
I want to blog about the heating and air conditioning business my husband and I have operated for over 33 years.
Do you have any questions about the industry, your own heat pump or furnace? Do you want to know something about us? Well ask away. While I can't answer technical questions myself, I do know who to ask. We'll try to help you as much as we can.
So look us up from time to time and keep me busy with our new blog, I mean your new blog!
